Q. What is your role at J Finance Ltd?

A. My role is to ensure people secure the right mortgage and protection for their needs.

Q. How long have you worked at J Finance?

A. I started with J Finance in July 2006.

Q. Describe your typical day…

A. Typically, my day starts with responding to emails from clients, catching up and any industry changes overnight, such as rate changes. I always catch up with Becky who is my Client Relationship Manager, to review our existing clients cases and pipeline business, as client service is something we take pride in.

Then it is straight into client meetings and working on their needs at that time, whether it be initial or further research, an Agreement in principle or a full application.

Q. What qualities make you best suited for your role?

A. Showing empathy, being a good listener and having experience help, as does excellent product, policy and industry knowledge which enables the client to receive the best possible advice.

Everyone’s situation is different and people’s needs vary; these have to be matched to lenders who have different lending policies. For example, some lenders are far better for first time buyers. Tenacity is also a useful personal quality, as there is usually a solution to most problems, it’s just knowing how and where to find it, to ensure that  the client still gets their new home.

Q. What do you like to do at the weekend?

A. On a weekend I enjoy spending time and catching up with my young grandsons, family and friends, often over food or a drink and long dog walks.

Q. Where was your last holiday?

A. My last holiday was in Barbados.
