I'm Rowan, Managing Director of J Finance. As well as overseeing the day-to-day running of the company, I still love working directly with clients. My main areas of focus are mortgages and equity release, with later life lending being my particular specialism.

I'm passionate about this area because there are so many options available for people looking to use their home as part of their financial planning in retirement. Even when some lenders won't consider applicants in their 60s or 70s, there are still plenty who will, and knowing which ones to approach makes all the difference.

I first joined J Finance in 2016 after five years with Nationwide Building Society, and became Managing Director in 2023, taking over from Jonathan Bright, to whom I am eternally grateful for hiring me in the first place and for supporting me in succeeding him. I'm genuinely excited about the future of the firm and how we'll continue to grow.

When people come to me for advice, it's not just about the qualifications, though I hold both CeMAP and CeRER. It's about the knowledge and insight I've built up over the years, and the understanding I have of how banks and building societies really work from the inside. With that experience, I can usually find the right solution quickly, which saves clients the stress of navigating the market on their own. Too often, people stick with their current lender out of habit, but loyalty doesn't always equal value. My job is to make sure your financial plan works for you, both now and in the years ahead.

Outside of work, I'm a car enthusiast with a side business as an automotive photographer, and I own a campervan that I take out for road trips whenever I get the chance, whether that's a short drive for a coffee or a longer camp-out. Family is everything to me. My fiancée Becky, my two sons, and our extended furry family keep me busy and grounded, and they are the reason I do what I do.
