Meet The Team
Jonathan Bright
What is your role at J Finance Ltd?
I am a Mortgage, Protection & Equity Release Adviser at J Finance. I am also a Compliance Adviser , so I work with clients as well as within the business. I am also involved in ensuring that the company continues to meet its regulatory and compliance responsibilities.
How long have you worked at J Finance?
I set the business up in 2002. Rowan Frayling took the business over in 2023, but I continue to work and advise in the business.
Why should someone listen to your advice?
I have been a financial adviser for over thirty years and possess extensive experience and knowledge in personal finance. I have advised thousands of clients throughout my career, which might suggest that I have encountered every possible financial situation, but it is true that everyone is different. Therefore, I still need to understand each client individually to provide the best advice tailored to their needs. I am committed to continuing my professional development and regularly attend training seminars and conferences.
What do you like best about working with J Finance?
I love the variety of my job; I enjoy working with clients and helping them achieve their goals, and the staff at J Finance who are hardworking and truly a loyal team. I also have a passion for just playing with numbers – mad but true! Another thing that makes my role interesting is catching up with clients I have helped in the past, learning about how their lives, families, and jobs have developed.
Describe your typical day.
No two days are the same, which keeps things interesting, but I try to plan for the day ahead and reply to emails first thing. I might then have meetings with clients or with others in the industry. Client meetings may involve new clients, existing clients wishing to change their situation, or existing clients who just want to confirm they are still on the right path.
What makes you happy?
My wife and my family as well as travelling. Spending time with our 3 children and their partners is always fun.
What do you like to do at the weekend?
A: I love to get out on my mountain bike or take our dogs for a walk in the beautiful Chiltern countryside where we live. It’s a bit of a cliché, but I really enjoy travelling too. Not only to visit different places, but to meet different people. Some of the best times of my life have been spent through chance meetings with people over a glass of local wine.
Where was your last holiday?
My last major holiday was spent canoeing and wild camping in Canada and before that walking in the mountains in central Iceland with my wife. Both trips were truly amazing experiences and we met so many interesting people from across the world. Our next trip will be somewhere warmer.
