This month the spotlight is on our latest new member to the team Jonathan Walsh.
Q: What is your role at J Finance Ltd?
A: I am a CeMap qualified Mortgage and Protection specialist. I am also studying to become qualified in the Equity Release market as well. As many people know; working and studying is challenging but I hope to take my exams later this year.
Q: What qualities make you best suited for your role?
A: I have over 12 years of experience within the mortgage and protection market place. I always listen carefully to what my clients want because every case is unique.
Q: Why should someone listen to your advice?
A: As a whole of market broker, I have access to offers and rates that clients cannot get by walking into any of the High Street lenders. I don’t put pressure on my clients but try to answer their questions as clearly and helpfully as possible. As the Mortgage and life market is constantly changing, I realise that advisers can never know everything, but I will try to find answers to anything I don’t know.
Q: How are you regulated?
A: I’m directly authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority
Q: Describe your typical day
A: Once the alarm goes it is a case of getting my 2 step-daughters organised for school – packing lunches, school bags and getting out of the door – and then feeding our 2 dogs. After children and animals are sorted, I start by replying to e-mails and phone calls, arranging appointments or seeing clients and submitting any cases that I have signed up – the day flies by when I am busy.
Q: What makes you happy?
A: The obvious answer is my family – my children are grown up, but I have inherited 2 lovely step-daughters who keep me young. I am also very passionate about England rugby and cricket, especially the rugby-our dogs hide when I’m watching!!
Q: What do you like to do at the weekend?
A: It depends on the time of the year- but I love watching rugby, walking the dogs & spending time with my extended family.
Q: Where was your last holiday?
A: Devon with my family
